I kind of like the new Bing.com search engine from Microsoft, it’s new and fresh and not so bad with search results.
By default, Firefox will search with google when you type something (not an url) in the address bar. Here is how to set Bing to be the default search engine in Firefox 3.5 :
- In Firefox, type about:config in the address bar (if prompted with a warning, click “I’ll be careful, I promise!”)
- In Filter, type : keyword.url
- Replace the Value (double click on the value) with : http://www.bing.com/search?q=
- Enjoy the freedom of choosing your search engine in your favorite browser.
If you want to go back to Google, the original keyword.url value is : http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=
For other search engines :
Google : http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=
Bing : http://www.bing.com/search?q=
Yahoo : http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=
Wikipedia : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Search?search=
